I love being a mom more than anything. Everything I do, is for my family. I married my husband in 2013 and we had a baby in 2014. Besides the baby, we have three wonderful boys: my 16 year old stepson, who lives in Missouri; my 13 year old son from my first marriage that lives with us; and my 10 year old stepson, that visits us every other weekend.
Growing up, I had 2 sisters and a brother, and I feel that my parents did a great job raising us on what little they had. Immigrating to the U.S. from Ireland in the 60’s, my parents had very little education. This kept them in manual labor jobs, my dad becoming a master mason, and my mom picking up office cleaning jobs to supplement his income. What we didn’t have in spoils, we gained in experiences, as my parents knew the value of getting us out into the world to see what it had to offer.
Similarly, I do not have the means to spoil my children. Yet, I’m sure to get out there and experience life with them and support their growth into productive adults.
My biggest wish for my kids is that when it’s time, they feel prepared to go into the world and do whatever their heart’s desire.
